I'm not sure about why this image is considered easily replaceable- any photo found on the web would be copyrighted by its owner, so it would not be usable. I feel the original rationale stands- the photo is a scan of a book mentioned in the article, and lo-res scans of book covers are allowed in this context, right? If it were removed, I fail to see where an alternative image is going to come from Urso 21:55, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

The way the photo is being used in the article, it's just showing what she looks like. That's in violation of fair use policy, see in particular counterexample 8. Since she is still alive and not a recluse, anyone who sees her in public could make a photo and release it under a free license. —Angr 16:13, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
